Dr. Shivani Pandit
Dr. Shivani Pandit graduated from University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in 1992 and has been in private practice since 1992. Dr. Shivani has been the proud owner and dentist of Oneonta Dental Center and has been serving the Oneonta, Blount county and surrounding cities and counties since 1997. Dr. Shivani finished her mini-residency in implant placement at the University of Alabama – School of Dentistry.
Dr. Shivani is a member of the Fellow of Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD). She is also a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), Alabama Dental Association (ALDA), American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE), and the Birmingham District Dental Society (BDDS). She also works with the AGD for peer review of research articles. Dr Shivani has extensive training in Orthodontics offered by the American Orthodontic Society since 2003.
Dr. Shivani Pandit’s favorite past time is painting and photography. She loves to paint and has a passion for photographing birds. We have a wide variety of birds, feeders, squirrels and even occasional deer on the backside of the office where she and her patients can enjoy such a fun and relaxing experience while at the office. Dr. Shivani’s artwork is hanging throughout the office. Dr Shivani is involved with the community and has donated to many community and school projects in our area.
Dr. Shivani is married to Dr. Kuntal Pandit who has his own successful dental practice in Birmingham. They have two wonderful children that they are very proud of all their accomplishments, Neeshee (married to Nicole), and Neeralee.
Dr. Kuntal Pandit
Dr . Pandit is the owner and president of the Oneonta Dental Center. He graduated from UAB School of Dentistry in 1997 . Prior to entering the dental world , he earned his Master ‘ s degree in Microbiology in 1984 and worked in food industry . Dr . Pandit is a native of India and has been in the U . S . since 1979 . Dr Pandit has earned his Fellowship in Academy of General Dentistry ( FAGD ) and is currently pursuing his Mastership program .
Besides dentistry , Dr . Pandit enjoys learning more about nutrition and its impact on our overall health . He is passionate about sharing and teaching since 1984 a n d his latest project is starting Alabama Dental Assisting School . He will be teaching this hands on course starting in January 2022 at the Oneonta location.
In addition to English , he fluently speaks Hindi and Gujarati . Dr . Pandit volunteers his services with Share & Care Foundation , Love Lady and Salvation Army . Away from dentistry , he enjoys playing pickleball , traveling with his family and trying new recipes!
Dr. Marc Vance
Dr. Vance was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Vance graduated from UAB Dental School in June 2011. While in dental school, Dr. Vance conducted research involving the performance of cosmetic dental materials. This research was later published in the Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry.
In July 2011 he began a General Practice Residency (GPR) at UAB Hospital. A GPR is an elective, extra year of training for general dentists to advance their skills before they enter private practice or another area of specialty.
In this program he treated patients with complex medical and dental conditions, completed a wide range of general dentistry procedures under the guidance of veteran professors, trained in oral conscious sedation and implant placement, and completed rotations in oral surgery, ENT, emergency medicine, anesthesia, and community outreach clinics. Dr. Vance is also a member of the FAGD.
Dr. Benjamin Crunk
Dr. Crunk received his undergraduate degree from The Pennsylvania State University in 1975 and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Temple University in 1979. He then completed a year-long General Practice Residency at Saint Joseph Hospital in Reading, Pennsylvania in 1980. After practicing for 6 years in Pennsylvania, Dr. Crunk moved back to his native state of Alabama and began his practice in Montevallo in 1985.
Dr. Crunk is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA) , the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) , the Alabama Dental Association (ALDA) , and the Birmingham District Dental Society (BDDS) .
Dr. Crunk is very involved with the community and has donated his time to many causes, including his time as a volunteer dentist and president of the board at the Foundry Dental Clinic , an organization that provides low-cost dental care to the less fortunate in Bessemer.
Dr. Crunk and his wife April enjoy being with their sons Evan (married to Hala) and Jake (engaged to Lauren). They also enjoy running, being in the mountains, or on the water.
